Temples and Tea II

Shooting with my good friend @templesandtea has become an annual event.

We always begin with the necessary life-catch-up over a hot beverage.

But then we roam the streets of NYC and find things to shoot.

We went to see a couple of street photographers, @jaaphotos and Louis Mendes. It’s always nice talking to other professionals. We share ideas and perspectives that are necessary to succeed in the business.

They shoot film and sell the Polaroids/prints on the spot. Both of these photographers have made a living for years by doing this type of work.

Then we continued our walk and created a photo exercise necessary for EVERY photographer. Asking strangers for their permission to shoot.

This type of exercise helps build confidence, gets you comfortable with rejection (not everyone will say yes)…

And more importantly forces you to search for, and create opportunities.

Plus it’s always good to meet new people.
